Foxlink Group and Qualcomm MEMS Technologies Make Joint Donation to Support Butterfly Eco-garden

Taipei, Taiwan – June 16, 2009 – Foxlink group has incorporated the philosophy of social responsibility into the corporate vision and mission statement. Thus Foxlink Group is dedicated to promote the participation of the business sector in social development, so as to take active interest in different aspects of environmental friendliness, ecological care and public affairs. Moreover Foxlink Group contributes immensely towards making business socially responsible by becoming aware of issues surrounding CSR (Corporate Society Responsibility), such as extending proactive support of research and development of energy-saving products in the pursuit of higher quality of environment.

Qualcomm MEMS Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM) and Foxlink commenced operations at dedicated mirasol® display fabrication plant in the Longtan’s Science Park in Taoyuan, Taiwan on June 15, 2009. The facility is the result of a strategic collaboration between Foxlink’s manufacturing and process engineering expertise teams in Taiwan and Qualcomm MEMS Research and Innovation Center (MRIC) laboratory in San Jose, California. Both teams drive the development and commercialization of mirasol® display technology and products. “Inspired by nature” is perhaps the best way to describe Qualcomm’s new mirasol® display system, which is based on the unique light-bending qualities of butterfly wings. The vivid colors of butterfly wings actually result from a highly developed process of light wavelength interaction. Based on reflective technology, mirasol® displays use significantly less energy than traditional displays. The display’s nature-inspired design lends to low power consumption and high reflectivity, offering consumers extended battery life and superior outdoor visibility.

Whilst Foxlink Group extends support to CSR implementation, Foxlink Group chairman T.C.Gou asked Qualcomm MEMS Technologies chairman Paul E Jacobs to make a joint donation of NT$ 1 million to Longtang Elementary School in Taoyuan, Taiwan to assist the eco-program of butterfly garden for further spreading CSR awareness in hopes of helping children to regain their zest to Eco-cultivation of nature.
